Jed and I were just talking about the fact that it’s been nearly four years since we took a family vacation. Yes, since before Astrid was born. As you know we were discussing and planning for Disney this year, but that is not going to happen. Someday though I hope it will.
There are a lot of sacrifices we make as families. So, just to dream a little I decided to see how much it would cost for the five of us to return to Cancan this Winter. I used an amazing travel site called Room 77. There are many travel sites out there – and believe me I think I’ve used them all – but I found Room 77 so unbelievably simple to use, navigate, and understand. Results were quick and hotels were easy to compare. You can easily filter your choices to drill-down to the hotels that will really work for you and I love that the hotels are mapped out for you so you can chose by location. You can also research hotel layouts and room views, which as you know can be key when traveling with kids!
Once you click on a hotel that looks great it gives you so many pictures, a very complete description of amenities, if it’s a hotel with free breakfast, and also what your ‘real’ total price is – with taxes all included so there are no surprises later. Another little hint for the rest of you who are a bit addicted to social media even when trying to get away from it all – you can even filter for hotels with free wifi!
I also love that it gives you more hotels to compare to on the hotel page so you can see where maybe you can save a little. Room 77 not only lists their best deals on hotels that meet your criteria; they also list their marketplace partners’ best prices, and whoever has the most affordable deal goes to the top of the list.
As a budget conscious family, Room 77 really gives us amazing tools to plan our vacation – no matter where in the world we are dreaming to go!
So now I’m going to get back to dreaming about a Winter getaway. I can see the cabana boys now….and the fruity drinks. Yum.
